The Story of a Yale Professor Turned Entrepreneur, Turned Environmental Activist
Event held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018
This past Tuesday TQT was proud to host a lecture by Dr. Ron Dembo, who gave a fascinating account of his path from academia, to entrepreneurship, to environmental activism. We’re very thankful to him for sharing his story, and also to those who came to hear it.
Dembo’s story covered the early days of Goldman Sachs, the process of bringing his expertise in risk management to the world of finance, and the overall benefits of entering new domains. He highlighted the “jazz band” nature of start-up culture, the importance of hiring based on how people fit into that culture, and the pressures of financing and board member dynamics.
Dr. Dembo is currently working with Goldman Sachs, applying risk management to climate change scenarios.
This lecture complements the ongoing CryptoWorks21 IP Management Lunch and Learn Lecture Series. To learn about future TQT events, you can sign up on the TQT Get Connected page.
