Why a listing in London could make sense for Canadian early stage technology companies
Event held on Thursday, March 8, 2018
On Thursday TQT hosted a Lunch and Learn about how start-ups could benefit by having a listing in the London Stock Exchange. Our speaker was Sarah Baker, the Head of North American Strategic Engagement for the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).
Baker explained why some North American companies have listed in London, and how doing so is a strong financing option for new and “internationally ambitious” Canadian technology companies. She highlighted how London nurtures university spin-off developments that are not quite list-ready, and that Brexit has not affected international investors.
We’d like to thank Ms. Baker for her talk, and all those who came to hear it.
