RAC2 Machine Shop - Job Request Form

Complete this form to request work to be done in the RAC2 machine shop. All work will be completed by the TQT Precision Machinist. Please note all jobs with an estimated time frame of 3 days or less will be completed in the order they are received. Requests estimated to exceed 3 days will be reviewed and scheduled. Materials used will be billed at cost.

The shop is located in RAC2, Rm 2121. If you wish to stop by the shop, please first schedule a time by email with Alex Mitrovic, alex.mitrovic@uwaterloo.ca.

Billing:
All billing will be completed through Badger. The shop bills for both the time the machinist is engaged with the project, and the tool time used.

Machinist labour:
Internal UW = $50/hr
External Non-UW = $100/hr

Internal Billing Rates for Tools Required (External rates are 3x the internal rate):
Hot works: $10/hr
CNC Machine: $7.50/hr
Lathe: $5/hr
Knee Mill: $5/hr
Drill Press: $5/hr

File Upload:
Only jobs with a complete CAD file will be accepted by the shop. You must upload your CAD file(s) to the Machine Shop Dropbox account. The link will be provided when you submit the form.
